Hiking Trails

The first Saturday in June is set aside as National Trails Day.  Trails do not exist without work and dedication from many people.  The existence of trails encourages a healthy lifestyle and an appreciation of local, state, and national parks.
Helping to maintain local trails does not have to be limited to June.  Encouraging students to participate in the maintenance of trails creates an awareness of God’s creation and an involvement in their community.  It also promotes living a healthy lifestyle.
  1. Choose a local trail that is accessible.
  2. Call your local waste management to find out where the trash bags can be disposed of.
  3. Gather supplies: walking shoes, a water bottle, trash bags, and gloves.
  4. Once the trash is cleared, enjoy a walk along the trail!
